Blue Glass Lamps

Blue glass lamps reflect light beautifully and fit especially well in coastal, transitional and contemporary spaces.

What to Look For

Start with the room and intended use, then choose a lamp that fits the furniture around it.

Scale

Match lamp height and visual weight to the table, seating or room around it.

Shade

Shade width and opacity affect both glare control and how much ambient light reaches the room.

Finish

Blue ceramic, glass and metal each reflect light differently and create a different design character.

How to Choose

For most rooms, the lamp should feel proportionate to the furniture supporting or surrounding it. Consider bulb type, switching, shade transparency, cord placement and whether the lamp is meant for ambient light, reading or decoration.

Blue works especially well when repeated elsewhere in small doses—art, pillows, upholstery, ceramics or window treatments—rather than relying on the lamp as the only blue object in the room.
